1 Hurt In String Of Nashville Shootings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Three people were killed and one person was injured in a string of shootings overnight in Nashville.

No one has been arrested in any of the three, separate incidents. Five people have been killed by gun violence in one week in the metro area a total of nine shootings in seven days.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said two men, identified as 22 year old Brandon Jordan and 38 year old Eric Allen, were sitting on a porch on South 8th Street in the James Cayce Homes neighborhood when someone opened fire on them and took off in a vehicle.

Police said Jordan was found lying on the ground near the apartment porch with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Allen, who lived at the residence, was found in the doorway. He was suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper chest.

Jordan died on the scene. Allen was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police continue to collect evidence after a double fatal shooting in the James Cayce public housing complex. An arrest has been made in that case.

Metro Police said 27 year old William Ervin was found in a parking lot on 25th Avenue North in north Nashville.

According to police, Ervin had just left an apartment where he was visiting family when they heard gunshots. He was struck in the chest and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.

No arrests have been made.
